Posted

The Consumer + Residential category at the Environment+Energy Leader Awards recognizes innovations reshaping sustainable living. In 2024, four standout winners led the way with products that are reducing environmental impacts and setting new standards in sustainability.

Let’s take a closer look:

FLOR: Carbon-Negative Rugs for a Greener Home (Judges' Choice Winner)

FLOR’s Carbon Negative Area Rugs took home the Judges' Choice award for their ability to sequester more carbon than they release—turning home decor into a climate solution. The judges praised FLOR's offering as "outstanding" with "clear sustainability benefits," recognizing their efforts to educate consumers across the product lifecycle. The collection, inspired by nature, is proof that carbon can be turned into an opportunity for positive impact.

Hubbell Incorporated: Sustainable Control for EV Charging

Hubbell’s Level-2 EVSE with Integrated Revenue Grade Metrology stood out for its effective management of EV charging. By integrating metering technology, Hubbell helps utilities reduce pollution and manage peak loads more efficiently. Judges called it "a wonderful example of sustainable innovation," highlighting its focus on both utility and recyclability.

P&G Cascade Platinum Plus: Green Chemistry for Efficient Cleaning

P&G's Cascade Platinum Plus allows users to skip prewashing dishes, saving water without compromising on results. Judges highlighted the "truly innovative" green chemistry behind this product, which aims to make dishwashing more resource-efficient for households, reducing both energy and water use.

Tim Hortons: Circular Packaging with the Grey Lid Project

Tim Hortons’ Grey Lid project introduced 25% post-consumer recycled polypropylene into lid production. Judges noted the lid's practical design and sustainability benefits, as it reduces virgin material usage while maintaining quality. This project is a step forward in advancing circular packaging solutions.

The 2024 Consumer + Residential winners show how sustainability can be seamlessly integrated into everyday products, from carbon-negative rugs to water-saving dishwashing solutions. Meaningful change truly begins at home.
