Redefining Recycling: GME’s Ventiduedenti Shredder Drives Sustainability in Aluminum Processing

Posted

GME Recycling has launched the Ventiduedenti (Ven-tee-dway-DEN-tee) shredder, setting new standards in aluminum recycling with advanced engineering and reduced environmental impact. Designed for efficient aluminum processing, Ventiduedenti combines precise cutting, extended durability, and energy savings, establishing it as a key innovation for sustainable recycling practices.

Collaboration Behind Ventiduedenti

A product of GME Recycling’s collaboration with Bosch Rexroth, Ventiduedenti is engineered to meet the demands of modern aluminum processing.

"Ventiduedenti reflects our dedication to innovation and customer-focused solutions," shares Maurizio Mori, GME’s Marketing & Sales Manager.

The shredder exemplifies the power of strategic partnerships, boasting a 4.0 system that processes up to 10 tons of aluminum scrap per hour. Since its unveiling, Ventiduedenti has drawn significant global interest from industries aiming to optimize recycling performance.

Advanced Technologies Driving Ventiduedenti’s Performance

Using advanced technologies to maximize efficiency, durability, and precision in aluminum recycling:

  • Quad-Cutting-Face Technology: This unique blade system, designed with four cutting edges, allows precise cuts to a fraction of a millimeter. Each blade rotates through the cutting edges, extending its functional life up to four times compared to standard single-edge blades.
  • Mono-Shaft Hydraulic Motor: By incorporating Bosch Rexroth’s Hägglunds motor, Ventiduedenti achieves high starting torque without the need for gear reducers, reducing mechanical stress and extending the life of the motor and hydraulic components. This design enhances efficiency while reducing energy peaks, contributing to longevity and savings.

  • Advanced Pusher System: The shredder’s adaptive pusher design prevents aluminum scrap clustering around the rotor, a common challenge in aluminum processing. With three modes (automatic, semi-automatic, and manual), the pusher accommodates diverse scrap materials, optimizing placement for uninterrupted, efficient shredding.
  • Enhanced Unloading Plate—The Tegolo: Positioned below the rotor, the Tegolo plate ensures uniform shredded aluminum size, enhancing quality control. Standardizing output size minimizes operational downtime and maintains consistent, high-quality output.

Ventiduedenti’s Broader Impact on Sustainability and Recycling Efficiency

Ventiduedenti’s innovative approach supports global sustainability goals as aluminum recycling becomes increasingly crucial. Aluminum recycling conserves up to 95% of the energy used in primary production, and approximately 75% of all aluminum ever produced is still in use today. According to CiAL, Italy’s national consortium for aluminum, raising aluminum recovery rates to 95% could reduce annual CO₂ emissions by 250 million tonnes.
