Polyplastics Pushes Toward Carbon Neutrality with Innovative New Material

Posted

Polyplastics Co., Ltd, a leading company in the engineering plastics sector, plans to launch its latest product, LAPEROS bG-LCP, in spring 2025. This new material aims to help reduce CO2 emissions and increase the use of renewable resources in electronic components, aligning with the company's DURACIRCLE initiative focused on sustainable manufacturing in the electronics industry.

A Biomass-Balanced Approach to Sustainability

LAPEROS bG-LCP incorporates a mass balance approach, combining biomass-derived materials with traditional fossil-based inputs. This method allows for part of the product to be classified as biomass-derived, depending on the amount of biomass used during production. Crucially, the product maintains the same chemical and physical properties as conventional alternatives, ensuring that existing manufacturing processes and performance standards remain unchanged.

By integrating renewable materials into standard production lines, this approach supports carbon neutrality goals and contributes to a circular economy without requiring changes to product quality or performance.

Designed for Modern Electronics

LAPEROS LCP is known for its thin-wall design, high flowability, heat resistance, and mechanical strength, making it well-suited for ultra-small connectors and components in devices like tablets and smartphones. Its strength at reduced thickness and low linear expansion coefficient, comparable to metals, align with the industry's push towards more compact and complex electronics.

As the demand for miniaturized electronic components grows, this new material will offer manufacturers a sustainable option that meets performance needs. Polyplastics plans to extend this eco-friendly approach across all grades of LAPEROS LCP, providing a broad range of sustainable materials for electronics manufacturers.
