On September 16, 2024, Siemens AG, Europe’s largest industrial manufacturing company, and Merck, a global leader in science and technology, formalized their collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
As part of this agreement, Siemens will become Merck’s preferred global supplier of advanced hardware and software solutions. The Siemens Xcelerator platform, known for its comprehensive digital solutions, will play a central role in driving this digital transformation.
Cedrik Neike, CEO of Siemens Digital Industries, highlighted the partnership’s importance, noting that it would move manufacturing away from traditional mass-production models and toward modular, smart systems. This shift is expected to streamline processes, enabling faster and more cost-efficient production while focusing on sustainability.
Kai Beckmann, Merck’s CEO of Electronics, echoed these sentiments, expressing confidence in Siemens’ ability to help Merck bring products to market faster while maintaining high quality and reducing environmental impact.
