The program will officially launch at the 2025 FlexForward: From Vision to Action conference in New Orleans. On November 4, professionals from across the supply chain will participate in coordinated service projects, marking the first organized activation of FlexImpact. Sponsored by the Flexible Film Recycling Alliance (FFRA), the event emphasizes hands-on collaboration and shared purpose around environmental and community engagement.
In addition to the on-site event, FPA is encouraging its member companies to organize their own service activities during the same week, fostering a decentralized model of participation. This nationwide approach is intended to maximize industry visibility and highlight how small, coordinated actions can add up to measurable impact.
FlexImpact stems from the work of FPA’s Environmental, Health, and Safety Committee, which continues to promote the integration of ESG practices across all parts of the flexible packaging value chain. Rather than focusing solely on technical innovation or production efficiencies, the initiative reinforces the idea that long-term industry leadership depends on aligning business performance with broader societal value.
The goal is to embed sustainability and community involvement as core aspects of industry identity—not just in rhetoric, but through practical, replicable action. By encouraging companies to lead by example at both the facility and organizational levels, FlexImpact aims to shape a more unified narrative around environmental stewardship and social contribution within flexible packaging.
Through ongoing participation, FPA hopes to demonstrate that sustainable materials and responsible practices can—and should—go hand-in-hand. The association sees this as a necessary step in building trust with stakeholders, shaping public perception, and reinforcing the role of the flexible packaging sector in solving real-world challenges.
