“Bringing a diverse range of CPOs into the WEX EV network marks a major step forward for fleet operators,” said Carlos Carriedo, COO, Americas Payments & Mobility at WEX.
Fleet electrification faces persistent hurdles: fragmented networks, inconsistent reimbursement, and gaps between depot, public, and at-home charging. WEX has been addressing these frustrations. Its EV Depot product, launched in April 2025, brought secure payments to private depots, complementing At-Home charging reimbursement and En Route public access.
Nationwide, the U.S. had about 219,000 public charging ports as of July 2025, including just over 60,000 DC fast chargers, according to the DOE Alternative Fuels Data Center. Yet progress under the $7.5 billion National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program has lagged: by April 2025, only 68 stations with 384 ports had been built, the Government Accountability Office reported.
“This accelerates the shift toward sustainable mobility,” said Nick Bordeau, VP of Software Engineering, Lynkwell.
“Working with WEX allows Revel to extend the reach and convenience of our fast-charging superhubs,” said Frank Reig, CEO & Co-Founder, Revel.
“By integrating Ampcontrol with WEX, we’re enabling customers like Revel to expand fast-charging access across cities,” said Joachim Lohse, CEO, Ampcontrol.
With these partnerships, WEX now offers fleets a more seamless system across depot, public, and at-home charging. The strategy aims to deliver not only broader coverage but also cost savings, data integration, and reliability. For fleet operators navigating uneven infrastructure growth, solutions that merge access and simplify payments may be just as important as building new chargers.
