The $15.5 million contract covers work on 26 buildings on both the Symons and Traill College campuses. The project, which is being run under the Campus Renewal Partnership (CRP), will run for two years. It includes new and re-commissioned air handling units, variable air volume conversions HVAC upgrades, variable speed drive pumps, heating boilers, domestic hot water boiler replacement, among other steps. The project is expected to cut Trent’s energy costs by more than $1.5 million annually for the next nine years. Ameresco Canada is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ameresco Inc.

Beginning this month, Ohio University will get half its energy from renewables. The school’s renewable energy goal, set in 2011, was for 20 percent of the campuses’ energy to be from renewables by 2020. That level will be achieved this year, according to reporting in Athens News.
