OpsGuru is targeting one of the least glamorous but most important parts of enterprise AI adoption: getting the data ready first.
The Toronto-based AWS Premier Tier Services Partner has launched its Energy Lakehouse Accelerator, a production-ready
data lakehouse engagement built on Amazon Web Services. The offering is designed to help organizations move from fragmented data systems to a governed, analytics-ready environment in weeks, rather than the six to 12 months often associated with traditional data platform builds.
The launch comes after OpsGuru received the AWS Data & Analytics Competency, a designation awarded to
AWS partners that have demonstrated experience in delivering data and analytics solutions at enterprise scale.
For many Canadian businesses, the issue is not a lack of interest in AI. Research conducted by Strand Partners for AWS found that 650,000 Canadian businesses are now using AI, but only 15% have reached the point where it meaningfully changes how they operate.
That gap is especially visible in sectors such as energy, utilities, mining, manufacturing and financial services. These organizations often work across operational technology systems, financial platforms, compliance records, inventory tools and customer databases that do not easily connect.
Before AI can support
forecasting, automation, reporting or operational decision-making, that data needs to be cleaned, governed, catalogued and made accessible. In many enterprises, that still means manual exports, long reporting cycles and significant governance work before teams can even begin to scale AI use cases.
OpsGuru is positioning the accelerator as a way to reduce that upfront build time. Rather than starting with a pilot or proof of concept, the engagement is intended to provide a production-ready data foundation that can support analytics and AI workloads from the start.
A Lakehouse Built for Regulated and Operational Data
The Energy Lakehouse Accelerator brings together field-acquired data, including SCADA, IoT and sensor telemetry, with business data from ERP, finance and inventory systems. The aim is to create a single environment where enterprise data can be catalogued, governed, accessed and prepared for advanced analytics and AI.
The platform includes security controls, compliance features, data quality gates and governance from the beginning of the deployment. It also includes a unified data catalogue designed to support access controls, auditable data lineage and policy enforcement across data and AI assets.
The stack is built on Apache Iceberg, an open-source table format used for reliable data storage and analytics performance, and runs on Amazon S3. Deployment is handled through Infrastructure as Code, which can help standardize implementation and reduce the risk of inconsistent configurations.
Because the accelerator is delivered as a managed engagement, customers do not need to build a full in-house cloud, data engineering and AI team before starting their first workloads. That may be useful for organizations with strong AI ambitions but limited capacity to design and operate a data platform from scratch.
OpsGuru already holds AWS Competencies in Migration, DevOps, Networking, SaaS, AI Services and Data & Analytics. It is also a launch partner of the AWS Partner Innovation Hub in Toronto.
For enterprise buyers, the value of the accelerator will likely depend on how much data fragmentation is slowing modernization. Energy and utility companies, in particular, often face a mix of legacy infrastructure, regulatory requirements and operational data sources that can make data projects difficult to scale.
The Energy Lakehouse Accelerator is now available through AWS Marketplace.
