From the Editor: As Deadline Looms, Here’s Why Companies Need You

Posted

Sustainability and energy management issues continue to grow in importance among major corporations, and technology has consistently evolved to meet the needs of companies as they strive to improve their environmental responsibility. Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning solutions can help reduce energy use, for example, while harnessing “big data” can lead to improved efficiencies in operations, the Internet of Things can help companies analyze and reduce water use, and other technologies can help companies achieve a more circular economy.

Our desire to celebrate these types of solutions - as well as the success of the companies that implement them - are what led us to launch our awards program several years ago. Since then, we’ve been able to share with our readers the most effective new products and projects, as chosen by a growing panel of judges, all of whom are experts in the industry.

Why am I bringing this up now? Because the final deadline for the 2019 Environmental Leader Awards and Energy Manager Today Awards is nearly upon us, and I wanted to give you one final reminder to get your submissions in. We extended the deadline (by popular demand!) until the end of January, but now our judges are excited to get busy evaluating the submissions and we need to let them get started.

If you haven’t started your entry yet, don’t panic! The submission process is surprisingly easy - answer a handful of simple questions and attach materials you probably already have created, such as case studies, spec sheets, customer testimonials and the like.

Major Companies Need to Know...

A new report from Newsweek Vantage indicates that the vast majority of large companies (95%) view the transition to a circular economy as a positive for their organization - and of those, technology executives are the most positive about circularity. But only 30% of companies said they actually have a circular strategy, and they cite a lack of technology, partners and know-how as barriers to moving forward.

My point? If your organization has a solution that can help, companies like these want to know about it. An Environmental Leader Project of the Year or Product of the Year Award win can ensure your product gets the visibility and fame it deserves.

Please reach out to Jacey Whittemore at jacey@businesssectormedia.com and +1-617-270-5555 with any questions. We look forward to seeing your innovative and exciting submissions! Submit here.
