ECHO Rebrands Generators Under New Industrial Power Division

Legacy Shindaiwa units relaunch as ECHO IPE to meet rising power needs

Posted

ECHO Incorporated has formally introduced its new industrial division, ECHO Industrial Power Equipment (IPE), repositioning a long-standing line of generators and welders under one unified brand. The move brings Shindaiwa’s field-proven industrial power products—previously distributed under separate branding—into the ECHO fold, supported by the company's extensive distribution and service infrastructure.

With the rebranding, ECHO is aiming to strengthen its position in sectors where mobile, reliable power is increasingly essential: construction, mining, oil and gas, and telecommunications. The IPE portfolio includes equipment that has seen more than 800,000 units deployed globally, reinforcing the company’s push into the industrial B2B space with a tested foundation.

Wayne Thomsen, Vice President of Marketing and Product Management at ECHO, noted that the products are built to meet the day-to-day realities faced by contractors and operators in critical industries, where dependable power is often non-negotiable.

Streamlining access to spare parts and inventory through ECHO’s national dealer network will help reduce lead times and enhance service reliability—two key concerns in the industrial equipment sector.

Simul-Phase Tech and Smart Design Focused on Jobsite Flexibility

At the core of the ECHO IPE product line is Simul-Phase technology—a feature designed for operational efficiency by delivering simultaneous access to dual-voltage, single-phase, and three-phase power. This eliminates the need for external transformers and simplifies power distribution across complex worksites.

Sound-dampening enclosures, built-in overload protection, and fuel-efficient engines optimize performance while minimizing disruptions and downtime. Notably, the DGK180F/P models operate at just 65 decibels under full load, making them suitable for urban or regulated noise environments.

Ease of maintenance and rapid deployment are additional selling points, particularly for rental operations and fleet managers looking to reduce turnaround time and service complexity. The IPE lineup is also fully compliant with EPA Tier 4 Final standards, integrating Smart Emissions Technology to meet stringent environmental regulations—a factor growing in importance for public and private contracts alike.
