Veolia announced today that it has acquired Enovity, an energy services firm based in San Francisco.
Veolia says that the acquisition will enable it to expand its footprint in the building energy services sector. Veolia now employs 250 people in seven U.S. cities, the press release says.
The parent company, the Veolia Group, has had an active early 2017 in the UK. On January 4, the company said that Churchill College, Cambridge, has extended a contract with Veolia that was first signed in 1993. The 15-year extension will include installation of a new combined heat and power (CHP) equipment.
On January 10, a partnership between Veolia and Peterson – which describes itself as an international energy logistics provider, have been awarded a decommissioning contract for platforms at their recycling facility in Great Yarmouth. On the same day, the company announced that the HRH Princess Royal opened the Battlefield Energy Recovery facility in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. The site was developed by Veolia.
Finally, The Star reports that the Sheffield city council is considering ending a waste disposal contract with the company early. It was signed in 2001 and runs until 2036.
