Energy Conservation Works (ECW) is bringing clean energy into the community conversation in Jackson Hole with its new “Sippin’ for Sustainability” series. The free happy-hour gatherings, hosted with Roadhouse Brewing and The Liquor Store, highlight how local businesses are cutting energy use, lowering costs, and investing in renewable power.
On August 28, Roadhouse Brewing will welcome guests to its taproom to share how it became a clean energy leader by installing rooftop solar panels with support from ECW’s commercial loan program. Just a week later, on September 4, The Liquor Store will host an event spotlighting its efficiency upgrades that reduced energy consumption and boosted savings. In both cases, attendees will enjoy beer and wine tastings while hearing practical examples of how small businesses can make sustainability work.
The events also showcase ECW’s Green Power Program, which allows residents and businesses to match electricity use with renewable energy generated locally. More than 125 businesses in Jackson Hole have already committed to purchasing 100% renewable power through the program, signaling growing interest in community-based climate solutions.
For Jackson Hole, where the economy depends heavily on its natural environment, energy efficiency and clean power are not only about reducing emissions but also about strengthening resilience and affordability. ECW has tied these events to its Old Bill’s Fun Run fundraising campaign, ensuring contributions are matched to expand impact. That means investments in projects like Roadhouse’s solar system ripple across the community, keeping utility rates low and extending benefits to households of all income levels.
By making clean energy approachable and celebratory, Sippin’ for Sustainability underscores how local action can reinforce national trends. Community-driven programs are proving that renewable adoption doesn’t have to be limited to large-scale projects—it can be as simple as raising a glass with neighbors to learn what works.
