Energy Star Awards 25 Product Brands 2019 Partner of the Year

The EPA and DOE recognized 183 Energy Star Partners for national leadership in cost-saving energy efficient solutions this week. These 2019 Partner of the Year winners included 25 brands from the product design and manufacturer sector.

This year’s award recipients are comprised of Fortune 500 companies, schools, retailers, manufacturers, home builders, and commercial building owners and operators from 37 states, according to the EPA.

“Their innovation and leadership enhance America’s economic competitiveness,” EPA Assistant Administrator for Air and Radiation Bill Wehrum said. “Reducing costly energy waste improves air quality and public health while protecting the environment.”

The following product design and manufacturing brands became Partner of the Year for the first time:

  • A.O. Smith
  • Broan-NuTone
  • Globe Electric Company (USA)
  • Greenlite Lighting Corporation
  • Hayward Industries
  • HP
  • Kenmore
  • L’Image Home Products

Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based A.O. Smith manufactures an extensive array of Energy Star-certified water heaters. The EPA highlighted the company for playing a pivotal role partnering with Energy Star to develop a national Energy Star product finder tool for consumers to locate contractors with experience installing efficient heat pump water heaters.

  • ITW Food Equipment Group
  • LG Electronics
  • Panasonic Life Solutions Company of America
  • Pentair
  • Ricoh USA
  • Samsung Electronics America
  • Welbilt

Last year’s list included five product brand owners chosen from thousands of partners in several categories. This year, the EPA also recognized several brand owners in the windows, doors, and skylights category for sustained excellence: Andersen Corporation, ProVia, and Soft-Lite.

Streetsboro, Ohio-based window manufacturer Soft-Lite increased the number of its Energy Star-certified products by 5.8 last year, according to the EPA. The company also expanded their use of the Energy Star brand through dealer training, marketing materials, and social media.
