  • Made from pre- and post-consumer textile waste.
  • Includes a natural additive that enhances environmental degradation.
  • Available in BOSS Green apparel starting October 2025.

HUGO BOSS has announced the launch of NovaPoly, a new recycled polyester yarn designed to tackle fashion’s microplastic problem. Developed in collaboration with Jiaren Chemical Recycling and NBC LLC, the fiber is made from production scrap and post-consumer textile waste. A key feature is its natural additive, which promotes degradation in the environment—reducing the long-term impact of microfibers released during washing and wear.

NovaPoly will be introduced under the BOSS Green line starting in October 2025 and will be part of the brand’s Spring/Summer 2026 performance wear collection. Products will be sold online, in BOSS retail stores, and through selected wholesale partners.

NovaPoly is part of HUGO BOSS’ larger strategy to replace virgin synthetic materials with circular alternatives. The company holds the exclusive trademark and usage rights for the first year and is actively working on a licensing model to expand access across the fashion industry. This aligns with the company’s BOSS THE CHANGE sustainability initiative, which emphasizes fiber innovation and waste reduction.

This move follows HUGO BOSS’ earlier partnership with HeiQ AeoniQ on alternative fiber development, reinforcing the brand’s long-term commitment to reducing its reliance on traditional polyester and polyamide.

Textile waste and microplastic pollution are growing concerns for both regulators and consumers. Polyester accounts for over half of all global fiber production, and traditional recycling methods often fail to address the persistent issue of microfiber shedding.

According to the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, less than 1% of clothing is recycled back into garments. NovaPoly directly addresses this gap by using discarded textiles as input and improving end-of-life outcomes through its degradation-enhancing additive.

HUGO BOSS’ introduction of NovaPoly comes as textile-to-textile recycling and degradable materials gain traction. Brands across the industry are investing in closed-loop systems and fiber innovations to meet circularity goals.
