has selected Electric HydrogenIngeteam, a leading European provider of power conversion systems, as a key supplier for its large-scale green hydrogen projects in Europe. This collaboration combines American electrolyzer innovation with European manufacturing expertise, aiming to enhance efficiency and reduce costs in the clean hydrogen sector.
As part of this partnership, Ingeteam will supply rectifier systems for Electric Hydrogen's 100-megawatt (MW) electrolyzer plants in Europe. The companies have already successfully integrated and commissioned these power conversion systems at Electric Hydrogen’s facilities in San Jose, California, and Devens, Massachusetts.
One of the most significant cost challenges in green hydrogen production is power conversion, which transforms AC electricity into DC for electrolyzer operation. Through joint technology optimization, Electric Hydrogen and Ingeteam have reduced integration risks while cutting costs by up to 60% compared to industry benchmarks. These cost savings improve the economic feasibility of clean hydrogen projects, supporting wider adoption across industries.
This strategic alliance supports the European Union’s decarbonization goals by combining Electric Hydrogen’s advanced proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyzer technology with Ingeteam’s manufacturing capabilities. Ingeteam, with more than 50 years of expertise in industrial power electronics, strengthens Electric Hydrogen’s ability to serve European customers while ensuring compliance with regional standards and supply chain resilience.
By working together, the companies aim to enhance competitiveness in the clean hydrogen market. Their combined expertise enables industrial operators in Spain and across Europe to optimize project costs while advancing energy independence and sustainability.
